Designed to warm up and strengthen dancers already equipped with advanced understanding of ballet vocabulary. Barre exercises are more complex and incorporate combinations that stress muscle stamina and strength. Center work is designed to challenge dancers with exercises that are longer and more physically demanding. Adagio work may include pirouettes in open positions. Attention is given to traveling steps incorporating multiple turns. Petite allego is embellished with batterie and can also include aerial turns. Combinations en manège may also be practiced. An emphasis on musicality, phrasing and artistry is stressed.
