About this event

Trauma-informed yoga is based on the understanding of trauma and its impact on the entire mind-body system. It is about integrating your experiences through connecting with your breath and mindful movements. If we are unable to process and release the sense of shock experienced throughout the body-mind system due to a traumatic experience, we can remain stuck in a state of severe disequilibrium causing physiological and psychological distress. Trauma-informed yoga is less about how poses are executed and more about how your body is feeling in each pose. The only goal of this class is to feel connected to mind and body in a way that helps you feel grounded and secure. Class is taught by Maura, a trauma informed teacher with extensive training and experience.
