Deep within the heart of the Amazon, a rescue mission uncovers a chilling discovery: reels of raw footage left behind by a vanished documentary crew. Their original quest was to investigate rumors of cannibalistic tribes—but what they captured on film reveals something far more horrifying than legend. Blurring the line between fact and fiction, this controversial cult classic shocked audiences worldwide with its brutal realism and unflinching critique of Western exploitation. Banned in over 50 countries and still notorious decades later, it remains one of the most provocative and unsettling films ever made.

Grindhouse Releasing has restored every shocking frame of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST for this special edition, which presents the Alan Yates “Green Inferno” documentary footage directly from the original 16mm camera negative in its native aspect ratio of 1.37:1 for the very first time.

“It’s a whole new and perhaps even more powerful experience watching the movie this way, with the alternating aspect ratios,” said Grindhouse Releasing owner Bob Murawski. “This is essentially the same way we constructed Orson Welles’ long-unfinished masterpiece THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND.”
