About this event
Djibril Diop Mambéty · 91m · DCP
A young Senegalese couple dreams of leaving Dakar for Paris, attempting several burglaries to raise funds for their ticket. Evocative of the French New Wave, while drawing on Wolof folklore, imagery of the American dream, and repeated invocations of Josephine Baker, Touki Bouki is a polyphonic experience fueled by what Martin Scorsese describes as a “raw, wild energy.”
