About this event
GALACTIC COWBOY ORCHESTRA
Galactic Cowboy Orchestra has been bending genre boundaries since 2009 with a high-energy mix of prog-rock, jazz fusion, bluegrass and more. Built on adventurous compositions, odd time signatures, improvisation and serious musicianship, GCO’s music can move from intricate riffs and soaring electric violin to deep grooves and extended jams, sometimes within the same song.
With seven albums, three DownBeat nominations, thousands of touring miles and collaborations with symphony orchestras behind them, the Minnesota-based quartet brings all that musical complexity to the stage without taking themselves too seriously. The result is an adventurous, energetic live show built around the interaction between four musicians and the audience in the room.
For fans of Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson, Dixie Dregs, Gentle Giant and Béla Fleck & the Flecktones.
