About this event
From First Spin to Solid Invert — Learn How to Build the Journey. How do you take a student from their very first Fireman spin to a solid invert? What should they learn next? How do you introduce Ayesha transitions when they’re not even sure how to approach the skill? The answer is structured progression. Join us for our comprehensive Pole Progression & Teaching Training, where we’ll break down how we build students’ skills step-by-step, create effective lesson plans, and teach different levels safely and effectively. THIS YEAR: A 2-DAY TRAINING We’re expanding the training into two days: DAY 1 — Intro Level We’ll focus on the foundation and progression from beginner through intro-level skills. DAY 2 — Intermediate / Advanced Intermediate We’ll build on Day 1 and dive into the progression, teaching strategies, and skills needed at the intermediate and advanced-intermediate levels. Attendance on Day 2 requires completion of Day 1. What You’ll Learn • The elements we include throughout our Intro–Intermediate program • Different entries into the same element and different transitions out • Which elements are essential to a student’s progression and which can be skipped without significantly affecting future skills • How to condition for different pole elements while prioritizing safe, steady progression • The criteria we use to determine when a student is ready for a specific element • Our “step up / step down” approach for teaching students of different sub-levels in the same class • How we build lesson plans and incorporate spin pole, combos, fun non-essential elements, and more • How to approach an intermediate student who drops into an intro-level class • Classroom management and keeping a class moving efficiently • How to effectively demonstrate and break down a movement • What to do when you’re teaching a move you cannot personally demonstrate • The basics of spotting and how to modify your approach when a spotter isn’t available • How to create progressions that actually move students toward their long-term goals • And much more! NEW THIS YEAR: VIDEO TRAINING LIBRARY You’ll also receive access to video materials covering all of the elements we teach, including: 🎥 Demonstrations of each element 🎥 Common mistakes and troubleshooting 🎥 Spotting techniques 🎥 Key teaching points and things to watch for And the best part: all attendees will have continued access to these materials after the training, so you can come back to them whenever you need a refresher. WHO IS THIS FOR? Whether you’re interested in eventually joining our team as a sub or instructor, want to become a better instructor, or simply want to understand how to structure your own training outside the studio, this training is a great opportunity to learn the methodology behind our program. Already attended this training before? You’re welcome to join us on the first day for free to refresh your knowledge and learn what’s new. Please note: All future subs and instructors will be required to shadow an instructor before teaching a class.
