About this event
Renée Green / Chantal Akerman · 44m / 89m · DCP
In a lecture on Chantal Akerman and On Kawara, Green envisioned a triangular conversation between the artists, their initials becoming “potentially conversant characters to think about variably –– breaking away, traveling, global souls.” Walking in NYL and News from Home are, in this vein, two conversant films about traveling souls. In the former, Green takes viewers through NYL, a composite of New York City and Lisbon; in the latter, Akerman reads her mother's letters against melancholic images of a long disappeared New York.
NEWS FROM HOME will be shown in its French audio version.
