SANTO VS. THE RIDERS OF TERROR - Dir. René Cardona, 1970, 78 min, DCP

When a group of lepers escape from their asylum, they fall under the influence of a band of outlaws who are terrorizing a small western town. The desperate sheriff calls for El Santo to defeat the bandits, defend the townsfolk, and help the exploited lepers.

Produced by Guillermo Calderón (THE BAT WOMAN) and directed by René Cardona (THE PANTHER WOMAN), Santo vs. the Riders of Terror sees the cine de luchadores meet the ‘chili western’ and adds dashes of horror and romance along the way.

Presentado conjuntamente por el programador de cine local Raúl Benítez y la archivista cinematográfica Viviana García Besné —miembro de las célebres familias Calderón y García Besné—.

Cuando un grupo de leprosos escapa de su sanatorio, cae bajo la influencia de una banda de forajidos que aterroriza a un pequeño pueblo del Oeste. El desesperado sheriff solicita la ayuda de El Santo para derrotar a los bandidos, defender a los habitantes y ayudar a los leprosos explotados.

Producida por Guillermo Calderón (LA MUJER MERCIELAGO) y dirigida por René Cardona (LA MUJER PANTERA), Santo contra Los jinetes del terror fusiona el cine de luchadores con el chili western, añadiendo además toques de terror y romance.
