An Evening of Soul Chanting Join Debi Buzil, founder of Devi 2000 & Friends for this devotional practice! Debi is the co-founder of Devi 2000, Chicago’s premier kirtan group. Their four albums — “Devotional,” “Prepare Your Soul to Dance,” “Kum Kum” and 2020’s “Planet Love” — are rooted in Bhakti Yoga, the path of love. Blending Indian Sanskrit chant, English songs, world rhythms and grooves both electronic and acoustic, Debi has studied music in the motherlands of Brazil, India and the U.S. She is the music editor at Yoga Chicago. Devi 2000’s songs have been featured on TV shows such as “The L Word.” Debi has been blessed to have taught yoga to adults, kids. homeless teens and the ladies in her neighborhood’s women’s shelter. A longtime devotee of Amma, the “hugging saint”, her two teenage children have proven to be her greatest teachers. Debi is a firm believer in love. Devi 2000 features beautiful players including Katarina Tapasya Stanisavljevic, Jeff Jyoti Stitely, Kenny Dread, Mehtab Kirtan, Bob Sperber, John Lawrence Geary, Michelle Ferguson and other special guests.
